Plan your next wine excursion

We are living a time of change, a time of greater awareness and appreciation for what our environment has to offer. We are discovering corners that were hiding in plain sight and rediscovering how much of what moves us and what we desire can be found in the things we took for granted. The things we must protect.

Wine tourism has always been around. But now it is consolidating its role as the backbone of a new kind of tourism that goes beyond wine and wineries, based on proximity and paving the way for improvisation.

Much like knowing ourselves helps us grow, knowing our natural environment makes us treat it and others with a greater sense of responsibility. Having a shared goal, an imperative that speaks to all of us, such as protecting the Earth, brings us closer, aligning our needs and desires.

After all, the concept of “wine tourism” contains a compendium of wisdom (and flavour) that transcends questions of soil and grape varieties. It is an interdisciplinary asset with ramifications that extend to wine and the arts, gastronomy and tradition, our social habits and customs, set against a horizon of grapevines seemingly suspended in the blue of the Mediterranean sky.

GASTRONOMY

Welcome to El Celleret where the pairing of wine and food takes on a new dimension in an elegant and inviting space where guests can enjoy the finest locally sourced cuisine with views onto Montserrat mountain and a garden which melds with the Mas La Plana vineyard.

El Celleret opened in 2019 and serves market cuisine rooted in Mediterranean traditions made from locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant has its own organic vegetable garden and raises a special breed of Penedès hens and cockerels. It is an extension of Familia Torres’s commitment to fomenting sustainability and respect for the Earth.

Conceived as an extension of home, El Celleret invites us to sit back and enjoy creative cuisine by chef Sergi Millet that underscores the identity of Familia Torres wines and the abundant foods the land and sea of the Greater Penedès region have to offer, uniting the elements which define us: landscape, gastronomy, and food.

WINE AS AN EXPERIENCE

Under the name Signature Visits, we have assembled a collection of experiences which draw on a close and immediate connection to Familia Torres’s vinicultural heritage and best-known wines. An immersion in the winery’s identity, values, and philosophy regarding the land and its fruit:

Nature speaks to us  on this tour of the vineyards of Mas La Plana, immersing us fully in Familia Torres’s commitment to the Earth and providing a deeper understanding of the parcels which comprise the geography of a unique terroir. It is a message woven into every bottle of the family’s finest wines, culminating in an experience that brings us closer to our natural surroundings with every sip.

What we were and are. Things learned, handed down, and shared. History meets tradition in a varietal tasting in the barrel room. Yesterday’s life experiences turn tomorrow’s wines into a sort of bottled personal chronology. A retrospective understanding of our evolution. An avantgarde of the senses.

  • Starlit Night. Astronomy, art, music, and wine and food pairings. Guided by the astronomers of the Parc del Garraf Observatory, we will learn all the curious facts about Venus. We’ll observe the planet through the Galileo telescope and discuss the drawings Galileo himself made of the planetary phases of Venus. In addition, we will take a walk through the Familia Torres vineyards and discover the history and origins of this winemaking family with more than 150 years to its name. This magnificent evening concludes with a wine pairing dinner under the stars at El Celleret, accompanied by live music. And for those of you who haven’t visited our winery before, we will offer an optional tour providing an in-depth look at our winemaking process.
